Would it be safe to apply Method 1 to this new computer? If I go into the Tools menu the favorite bar is checked and lock toolbars if checked. I know about the right click toolbar selection for Explorer. Good news is that MS has now disabled the "automatic upgrade" to Win 10, so that should no longer be an issue.
