I'd love to know if you found an answer as I've been living without internet access from the tiles (for internet and email) since July. To take it from the start screen and make that the only way to get it back is beyond abuse. Connie Thank you so much!!! I changed my MS password recently and half the stuff in Metro stopped working until I updated the password settings in win 8 itself.

Well, I would still make sure you did a FULL reboot and running CCleaner couldn't hurt. This feature is not available right now. Desktop internet / email all fine, though.

- This required a "shutdown /r" from cmd prompt as the win8 default shutdown only seemed to give the os a reboot not the whole thing, so something was stuck inside windows

The only way I could get it to work was to download the google browser and then there is an option called "open in internet explorer" . I've had my surface for two months and have just been assuming that ie10 just didn't work on a touchscreen!
