Wii U Won't Detect External Hard Drive
Mine would format, but nothing would write. Do you have the Y wire? Not enough? If you continue to cause errors, you will be blocked again for an indefinite period.
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn now working at IBM as Finally someone who realized that Power =/= next gen! Also why you can run things like portable drives without supplemental power. However the less power you pull through the WiiU's PSU the better.

Maybe a company will be able to make a more efficient USB 3.0 drive, so that people don't need a y-cable. It shouldn't, it's bullshit that it is, and seeing as how Nintendo officially denounces flash drives it's even more bullshit why it is not the default setting. Now, all that answered, the comments above kick in - you're sure you don't want to use the drive again with the Wii U because the NTFS low-level format won't let Flash Drive Wii U Buy Y-cable and it should work Dave24 3LanSun 27th Apr 2014 I second the Y-cable recommendation. All of these drives will be running at most at USB 2.0 speeds regardless of the actual drive/adapter/enclosure. I'm guessing that trick is going to fix it?
