Windows 7 Floppy Disk Install
I have just built a new system using giga-byte ga-ma790xt-ud4p motherboard and phenom II 945 processor. Let's boot our backup OS from CD called UBUNTU and see what it thinks of all this.No installing or learning required. Any help would be appreciated.I don't know why the IDE floppy was working then quit, and now the new floppy won't work. These are all charities or nonprofit agencies, with > different operating systems, ranging from Windows Me thru XP thru > Vista.

If you can transfer the files from a machine that will read them onto a USB stick or CD, you will save yourself a lot of exasperation. Usb Portable Diskette Drive Driver Windows 7 This is due to the different FAT used by XP than earlier operating systems. XP used NTFS to map files, and NTFS is incompatible with both FAT and FAT32.
In my own instance, it is particularly worse when trying to format DD disks (720K) - Windows 7 doesn't even offer you the option to format these any more, so that I’ve removed \DosDevices\A: from HKLM\SYSTEM\MountedDevices and will see if that helps when I reboot. When they try to format a disk, they sometimes succeed, but sometimes don't even find the disk in the USB disk drive. And err if the database fits on a 1.4 MB floppy, why not email it instead?
