Reply Dan July 23, 2015 Cameron - (apologies for calling you SImon in the earlier post)… after fiddling some more with this, my problem was actually resolved by switching over to Suddenly tonight, everything works until I hit play. It looks like it is going to work but stops in the red netflix screen and goes no further. Certain series will stop recording the show even though that series will continue to show in the recordings list.

then i found it… there was a EMPTY file called ehome with 0 bytes… deleted that damn thing and then BOOM installation completed just fine. I wanted a faster HDD anyway so I reattempted the rebuild today and the same problem occured after updating to 8.1 Pro with media center. Depending on your location, you may have more channels in the guide than you had before the transition. I "tweeted" Rovi and they passed the buck back to Microsoft. I discovered the correct zip code for Knoxville, TN by searching multiple on-line TV guides and the 37909 zip code appeared to be the correct, or best working zip code. I tried my original Zip Code, 02446 and it stills fails. With the removal of Windows Media Center on Windows 10, you lose the option to play DVDs. But before downloading and installing a DVD player, you should make sure the DVD player is fully compatible with Windows 10 and can play both unencrypted DVDs and commercially encrypted DVDs. However, WMC doesn't seem to be linking them to the channel number.
